Meet GPT Image 2: The Next Generation of Image Generation

GPT Image 2 represents the second generation of OpenAI's multimodal architecture, optimized for text-to-image generation tasks. The model is built on an updated neural network structure featuring a single-pass inference algorithm, which reduces computational complexity and improves semantic consistency with real-world objective characteristics. The basic workflow involves: text prompt input → raster image generation. It also integrates a conditional editing module, allowing users to upload a reference and apply targeted modifications (background, clothing elements, facial expressions, stylization) while preserving the geometry and visual identity of the original subject.
Key architectural and functional differences from GPT Image 1.5:
- Typographic accuracy: Text elements, including the Cyrillic alphabet, are generated without geometric distortion. The stated accuracy level exceeds 99%.
- Color rendering and gamma correction: A systemic artifact of excessive yellow-glossy tint has been eliminated; the color palette is normalized, providing a more natural and contrasting render.
- Semantic recognition of commercial brands and UI: The model was trained on expanded datasets featuring real brands and user interfaces (YouTube, Ozon, Apple), ensuring precise reproduction of visual identifiers and UX elements.
- Subject consistency: Stable character identification is maintained across a series of images, optimizing the pipeline for creating visual narratives and corporate mascots.
- Inference performance: Generation speed is approximately doubled compared to the previous release, thanks to computational pipeline optimization and the implementation of single-pass rendering.
